Our friends at safeboundmoving.com are here to tell you why you should use a moving company rather than attempt a DIY move. While moving can be an extremely exciting time in your life, it can also be one of the most stressful. You might have a four-bedroom house to pack up, or you might have a studio apartment. No matter the size, the move is sure to cause a bit of worry.
A quick fix is turning the labor and logistics over to the professionals. Don’t break your back (literally) or rush around and end up breaking valuables. Instead, hire a specialist to get the job done efficiently and carefully. Professional local movers are experienced in the hard work — lifting, protecting, packing, loading, and unloading. You wouldn’t hire just anybody to work on your car; you’d hire an experienced mechanic. Think of moving the same way.
The Move Itself
An often-overlooked item on the moving agenda is physically getting your belongings from Point A to Point B safely. The actual driving is frequently an afterthought unless it’s long-distance moving. A traffic accident is one of the last things you want while moving all of your possessions. That’s why licensed drivers with reputable companies take special care to ensure they get everything you own from your old home to your new home in one piece. Local drivers are familiar with the roads and traffic patterns they’ll be taking to get your stuff to where it needs to be. They all also have the experience and repertoire to put your mind at ease while your valuables are in the moving truck.

When To Hire
Most people make their moves in the summer. The weather is typically favorable, and the kids are on summer break. However, because summer is when everybody is trying to move, moving companies will be incredibly busy this time of year. If you want to move in the summer, we recommend you schedule your move as far as possible in advance to secure your preferred dates and keep costs as low as possible.
It also isn’t a bad idea to move in the off-season, between October and early May. That’s when you’ll get the most flexible dates and cheapest costs, even on short notice. But, whenever you decide to move, we recommend you call a professional moving company a least four to six weeks in advance.
Payment & Protection
Typically, you won’t have to pay more than a 15% deposit at the time of booking. That deposit is due once the details are finalized and the moving date is scheduled. The remaining balance is due when your belongings are delivered to their new location before the movers begin unloading the truck(s).
If your belongings are broken while in transit, moving companies offer two types of protection by law. These protections are not insurance but liabilities of the moving company. The first, limited liability protection, known as Released Value Protection, means the company is liable for up to 60 cents per pound per article. The cost of Released Value Protection is included in the base moving price. More protection is offered with Full Value Protection at an additional charge. With this option, the company is liable for all lost, damaged, or destroyed goods. The company will either repair, replace, or offer a cash settlement. Remember, valuation isn’t insurance. If you wish to purchase insurance, contact your insurance provider.
Find a Reputable Mover
When it comes to moving, it’s something you want to leave to the experts. There are so many possible things that might go wrong if you try to do everything yourself. Sure, you might literally have a more “hands-on” experience. But trust us when we say that this is one experience that’s worth paying for a quality service.
You could recruit some friends, rent a U-Haul, and get everything done in one very long day. But the reward of saving some money is not worth the rist. By the time you’ve dropped a few boxes, broken some things, and stubbed your toe a couple of times, you’ll be wishing you had done some research and hired a reputable moving company. also click here for helpful information section.
